Call for Special Track Proposals

Special tracks are being considered for ISM 2007 as an important part to supplement the regular program. The special tracks are expected to provide an overview of the state-of-the-art in a given area and highlight important research directions in a field of special interest to ISM. The topics proposed in special track need to be relevant to the conference and the special session should be targeted at a focused effort rather than very broadly defined.

Each special session should be comprised of 6-8 invited papers. It is encouraged that the session begins with an overview paper on the topic being addressed and remaining papers follow up with technical contributions on the topic.

The following information should be included in the proposal:

  • Title of the proposed special session.
  • Names/affiliation of organizers (including brief bio and contact info.)
  • Session abstract (state significance of topic and rationale for proposed session.)
  • Detail information of the potential overview (tutorial-like) paper (including name/affiliation of the presenter and tentative title.)

Proposals will be evaluated based on the timeliness of the topic and relevance to ISM. Please note that all papers in the proposed session will be reviewed by session chairs and approved by special track chairs to ensure that contributions are of highest quality.

All papers accepted by the Special Tracks will be published in the conference proceedings. Please check out the submission instructions for manuscript preparation information. More details on the Special Tracks of IEEE ISM 2006 can be found at http://ism2006.eecs.uci.edu/tracks.html.
